PMI Launches Pilot Program for the Program Management Professional (PgMP)
PMI Launches Pilot Program for the Program Management Professional (PgMP)
PMI is launching an invitation-only pilot program for the new PgMP credential. Beginning 17 November 2006, a select group of potential participants will receive an invitation to participate in a pre-screening for eligibility and demographic representation. Due to the need for a small, controlled pilot to test all processes and functionality, we are not able to entertain public requests to participate. Therefore, the pilot is not available as a public offering.
Execution of the pilot credentialing process will be during the first quarter of 2007. This pilot will consist of approximately 100 candidates for the PgMP credential, who will participate in each of the steps of the process in a controlled environment. The candidates are being chosen based upon work experience and the desired demographic and industry representation.
The PgMP credential has been specifically developed to acknowledge the qualifications of professionals who lead the coordinated management of multiple projects and ensure the ultimate success of a program. Candidates that pursue the PgMP credential will be evaluated through a sequence of assessments, including:
Application Review by PMI staff and a Panel of Program Managers
Multiple-choice Examination
Multi-rater Assessment
Individuals do not need to possess a PMP credential in order to be eligible
